Set up made at the "Bari Polytechnic University Library"

The basic idea of the team established by the Rector of Bari Polytechnic, Eugenio Di Sciascio, was to maintain in the design, the library branches already operating within the Athenaeum and to identify additional spaces to compose a single library-building that spans the entire Polytechnic.

Bawer Museum provided seating such as waiting chairs and steel chairs. Reading tables and multimedia stations were used as study shelves; while in the reception area, a large reception desk was installed.

In addition, single and double-sided metal storage cabinets, shelves and bookcases were provided, as well as partition panels and compactable cabinet installations, which were inspired by a product concept designed more for the needs of libraries and book repositories than for simple archiving or traditional storage.

Indeed, the goal was to offer a true open closet installed on a mobile base.

The shelf construction with full side panels instead of traditional open uprights ensures a more rational use of the facility: stored material cannot slide sideways from one compartment to another.

Two independent, staggered shelf fronts have been provided for each bilateral cart, rather than a single shelf, which severely limits loading options.

The thickness used is also a maximum guarantee of strength and resistance, even to the highest loads.

Maximum attention has been paid to plant safety: there is an anti-tip device and an anti-crushing device.
