The Adriano Bernareggi Diocesan Museum reopens: a new space for art in Bergamo.

23 September 2025

On Saturday, September 27, the Adriano Bernareggi Diocesan Museum in Bergamo officially reopened to the public. Completely renovated and housed in the former Episcopal Palace, it has now been restored and enhanced. The museum spans two floors, totaling 900 square meters, and welcomes visitors into ten exhibition rooms, displaying over 60 works, including paintings and sculptures, dating from the 14th to the 20th century.

The new layout is the result of a major architectural and museum redevelopment project, aimed at adapting the spaces to contemporary exhibition standards, offering a modern, accessible, and immersive visitor experience.

Within this project, Bawer oversaw the supply and installation of museum furnishings and exhibition structures, custom-made to ensure functionality, aesthetics, and durability. The proposed solutions integrate perfectly with the building’s historic architecture, helping to enhance the museum’s cultural heritage and strengthen its connection to the diocese’s spiritual and cultural identity.

The exhibition, organized according to a historical-thematic approach, guides visitors through the centuries, recounting the evolution of faith, art, and devotion in the Bergamo area.

A precious opportunity to rediscover a priceless artistic heritage, in a space that is now also a place of reflection, encounter, and dialogue with local history and spirituality.
