Switzerland hosted the fifth Global Patient Safety Summit in Montreux.
The meeting was attended by more than 600 experts and nearly 80 ministerial delegations from around the world, who gathered to discuss measures to strengthen patient safety.
The Montreux Charter on Patient Safety, approved at the summit, reaffirms that patient harm in healthcare is an urgent public health problem affecting all countries regardless of income or geographic location, and is therefore a truly global challenge.
The goal is therefore to work together to create a safer healthcare system for all and to build a culture of safety that emphasizes continuous improvement, learning, and innovation.
